‘Agent Carter’ NYCC Panel Reveals Madame Masque for Season 2
For fans of Marvel’s Agent Carter, the biggest news from today’s New York Comic Con packed panel was this : Wynn Everett will portray iconic villain Madame Masque when the series returns for season 2 in 2016.
But before we go any further, here are the top five things you need to know from the panel :
Wynn Everett (The Newsroom) has been cast as Whitney Frost, a Hollywood actress and inventor who eventually becomes the villainous Madame Masque, along with Currie Graham (Pompeii) who will play Calvin Chadwick, Frost’s husband
Reggie Austin (Devious Maids) has been cast as Dr,.Jason Wilkes and will portray Peggy’s love interest in season 2 and Lotte Verbeek (The Fault in Our Stars) has been cast as Ana Jarvis
Dominic Cooper and Bridget Regan will return for season 2
Just like last year, Marvel’s Agent Carter will begin airing when Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. goes on mid-season hiatus
Howard Stark truly does have the coolest cars in all the world
So now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s settle down for a good, old-fashioned Carter news recap.
Earlier this year, it was announced the second season of Marvel’s Agent Carter was moving from the gritty streets of New York City to sun-drenched Los Angeles.
According to earlier interviews with star Hayley Atwell, season 2 is set in the late 1940s with Agent Peggy Carter still fighting the forces of evil at the Scientific Strategic Reserve and reporting to Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) who has been promoted to Chief of the SSR. Season 2 will be a bit longer with 10 episodes set to air versus season 1’s eight episodes.
Along with Sousa, several familiar faces are returning to aid Peggy in undercover operations, including trusty friend and sidekick Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy) as well as fellow SSR agent Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray). Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) will also appear throughout the season, and it appears Peggy isn’t through with her old nemesis Dottie Underwood.
The majority of the season 1 cast is back on board, but it’s yet to be officially confirmed if fan favorite Angie Martinelli (Lyndsy Fonseca) will return for season 2. Meanwhile, Marvel is notoriously tight-lipped with the information it provides and what it doesn’t say can be just as important as what it does (translation : don’t give up hope Cartinelli fans).
