Agent Carter star Lotte Verbeek reflects on cancellation : "It felt like we let the fans down"
Ana Jarvis actress pays tribute to supporters of the Marvel series.
Agent Carter actress Lotte Verbeek has spoken out following the show’s cancellation, thanking fans for their support.
Verbeek appeared on a panel at MCM London Comic Con with the Agents of SHIELD cast - and admitted getting axed felt like "letting the fans down".
"The fans were just amazing in supporting it and I’m sorry it got cancelled," she said. "I feel like we’re kind of letting the fans down... but it wasn’t my decision !
"I thought it was a really different show, in terms of... I felt like it added something to TV land, that was really fun and very Marvel, but also kind of different."
The Dutch actress - who played Ana Jarvis - also revealed that the Hungarian accent she adopted for her character was judged to be too thick by producers.
Fearing US viewers wouldn’t understand, Verbeek had to re-dub the first two episodes of season two.
Agent Carter was cancelled by ABC earlier this month, with lead actress Hayley Atwell set to star on the network’s new show Conviction this fall.
