Hayley Atwell refuses to let her partner join her on the red carpet until they are married

She is in a relationship with a doctor who she has known since she was ten years old but Hayley Atwell has never disclosed his name.

And the star, 36, told Town & Country UK that she won’t appear on any red carpets with her love until there’s a ring on her finger.

The British-American actress said of her plans to marry : ’If that’s on the cards for us, lovely.

Love : Hayley Atwell told Town And Country magazine that she won’t let her partner join her on the red carpet until they are married as she admitted she wants to ’belong to someone’

’The emotional connection of belonging to someone, or having the intention to build something together, that feels really nice.

She said : ’I wouldn’t want him to be on a red carpet with me, or in any way in the public eye unless there was a ring on my finger to respect him and respect the relationship. He’s not seen on my arm as my date’

Fall for florals like Hayley in Mulberry

Posing up a storm in the new edition of Town and Country Magazine, Hayley Atwell looked incredible in a series of designer outfits.

The star channelled chic vibes in a cream crochet Dior number, before radiating old-school Hollywood glamour in this fur trim floral design by Mulberry.

We love the boudoir-chic aesthetic, elegant white shade off-set with pink and orange blooms, and the general retro feel it creates (super cute cat not included).

It’s from the Mulberry autumn/winter ’18 collection, where vintage-inspired fur trims adorned most of the garbs.

It’s not available to buy yet but this is definitely one piece we’ll be keeping an eye out for ! In the meantime, stick with classic florals and have a browse through the picks below from Fashion Union, Missguided, Lasula and New Look.

She said : ‘I saw him watching the Oscars highlights, and he said, “God, your job is really weird.”

’He doesn’t know anyone in terms of celebrity, so I can bring him to anything and he doesn’t change how he responds to anyone at all. That makes everyone feel very comfortable.’

Hayley is best known for her roles in Howards End, The Duchess and Captain America and is currently starring alongside Ewan McGregor in the new Disney film Christopher Robin.

The British-American actress said of her plans to marry : ’If that’s on the cards for us, lovely’ although she is yet to disclose her partner’s name, only to say he is a doctor who she has known since she was ten years old

She also spoke about avoiding contact with Harvey Weinstein, despite starring in Brideshead’s Revisited, a Miramax production.

She said : ‘Maybe I was intentionally kept away from him ? I don’t know. I consider myself lucky. Hollywood at that time was still very new to me, I was just out of drama school.’

Hayley also spoke about what it was like to work with legendary actress Emma Thompson.

She also spoke about avoiding contact with Harvey Weinstein, despite starring in Brideshead’s Revisited, a Miramax production. She said : ‘Maybe I was intentionally kept away from him ?’

She said : ’It’s difficult to do a film with Emma Thompson and not feel incredibly safe. Being in Em’s company, it feels like anything is possible.

’As I’ve got older, I admire qualities in women that are more universal instead of trying to emulate roles that they’ve done. Wherever she goes, she tries to engage with people.’

Hayley touched upon her role as Margaret Schlegel in the BBC’s Howards End, a part that Emma Thompson played in 1992 :

She said : ‘I’m an actor, I want a go at the good parts. For me, Margaret was in that canon for those great female roles in literature.’

‘[Emma] just went, “Oh God, don’t do what I did. You are she, and she is you, make her your own. And choose to cry just once and that will have emotional impact, because if you cry in every other scene, it doesn’t affect the audience.”’
